Age Gone By

I have to say this made me smile when I think I saw Mike @ 3:21.
Honest - looks like him...
A good video of what it was like in days gone by...
Trouble is - I can remember a lot of this!

I was at the 1962 Kenley world RC championships as featured in the blog. I went along with a friend Rodney Johnson on the back of his Tandem. We used the bike to recover a Russian entry plane owned by a chap called A.A.Arler, and I reckon I am a better flyer today than he was then!

The British winning team was Harry Brooks , Frank Vandenburg, and Chris Olsen. I did not know at the time that Chris Olsen was related to my cousin Pat's husband. He used to test his engines at the Queens Road hospital site in West Croydon only a stones throw from where you lived Pete. As some of you know I have the last Uproar plane built by Chris Olsen that has flown at Barton's Point.
